Be gracious to me, God, according to Your faithful love; according to Your abundant compassion, blot out my rebellion. | 1For the choir director. Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions. |
| 2Wash away my guilt and cleanse me from my sin. | 2Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse me from my sin. |
| 3For I am conscious of my rebellion, and my sin is always before me. | 3For I know my transgressions, And my sin is ever before me. |
| 4Against You--You alone--I have sinned and done this evil in Your sight. So You are right when You pass sentence; You are blameless when You judge. | 4Against You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil in Your sight, So that You are justified when You speak And blameless when You judge. |
| 5Indeed, I was guilty when I was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me. | 5Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. |

| 18In Your good pleasure, cause Zion to prosper; build the walls of Jerusalem. | 18By Your favor do good to Zion; Build the walls of Jerusalem. |
