| 1Jesus spoke these things, looked up to heaven, and said: Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son so that the Son may glorify You, | 1Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, |
| 2for You gave Him authority over all flesh; so He may give eternal life to all You have given Him. | 2even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. |
| 3This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and the One You have sent--Jesus Christ. | 3"This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. |
| 4I have glorified You on the earth by completing the work You gave Me to do. | 4"I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. |
| 5Now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence with that glory I had with You before the world existed. | 5"Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. |
| 6I have revealed Your name to the men You gave Me from the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. | 6"I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. |
| 7Now they know that all things You have given to Me are from You, | 7"Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You; |
| 8because the words that You gave Me, I have given them. They have received them and have known for certain that I came from You. They have believed that You sent Me. | 8for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me. |
| 9I pray for them. I am not praying for the world but for those You have given Me, because they are Yours. | 9"I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; |
| 10Everything I have is Yours, and everything You have is Mine, and I have been glorified in them. | 10and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them. |
| 11I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by Your name that You have given Me, so that they may be one as We are one. | 11"I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are. |
| 12While I was with them, I was protecting them by Your name that You have given Me. I guarded them and not one of them is lost, except the son of destruction, so that the Scripture may be fulfilled. | 12"While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled. |
| 13Now I am coming to You, and I speak these things in the world so that they may have My joy completed in them. | 13"But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves. |
| 14I have given them Your word. The world hated them because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world. | 14"I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. |
| 15I am not praying that You take them out of the world but that You protect them from the evil one. | 15"I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. |
| 16They are not of the world, as I am not of the world. | 16"They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. |
| 17Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth. | 17"Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. |
| 18As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. | 18"As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. |
| 19I sanctify Myself for them, so they also may be sanctified by the truth. | 19"For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. |
| 20I pray not only for these, but also for those who believe in Me through their message. | 20"I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; |
| 21May they all be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You. May they also be one in Us, so the world may believe You sent Me. | 21that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. |
| 22I have given them the glory You have given Me. May they be one as We are one. | 22"The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; |
| 23I am in them and You are in Me. May they be made completely one, so the world may know You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me. | 23I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. |
| 24Father, I desire those You have given Me to be with Me where I am. Then they will see My glory, which You have given Me because You loved Me before the world's foundation. | 24"Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. |
| 25Righteous Father! The world has not known You. However, I have known You, and these have known that You sent Me. | 25"O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; |
| 26I made Your name known to them and will make it known, so the love You have loved Me with may be in them and I may be in them. | 26and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them." |
