Romans 12
ESV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
English Standard VersionChristian Standard Bible
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.1Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.2Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.3For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one.
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function,4Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function,
so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.5in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;6According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one's faith;
if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching;7if service, use it in service; if teaching, in teaching;
the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.8if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.9Let love be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good.
Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.10Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. Outdo one another in showing honor.
Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.11Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit; serve the Lord.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.12Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.
Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.13Share with the saints in their needs; pursue hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.15Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.16Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.17Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Give careful thought to do what is honorable in everyone's eyes.
If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.18If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”19Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for God's wrath, because it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.
To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”20But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.21Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
