Christian Standard Bible | English Standard Version |
I will not keep silent because of Zion, and I will not keep still because of Jerusalem, until her righteousness shines like a bright light and her salvation, like a flaming torch. | 1For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a burning torch. |
Nations will see your righteousness and all kings, your glory. You will be given a new name that the LORD's mouth will announce. | 2The nations shall see your righteousness, and all the kings your glory, and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will give. |
You will be a glorious crown in the LORD's hand, and a royal diadem in the palm of your God's hand. | 3You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. |
You will no longer be called Deserted, and your land will not be called Desolate; instead, you will be called My Delight Is in Her, and your land Married; for the LORD delights in you, and your land will be married. | 4You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate, but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her, and your land Married; for the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married. |
For as a young man marries a young woman, so your sons will marry you; and as a groom rejoices over his bride, so your God will rejoice over you. | 5For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you. |
Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen on your walls; they will never be silent, day or night. There is no rest for you, who remind the LORD. | 6On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the LORD in remembrance, take no rest, |
Do not give him rest until he establishes and makes Jerusalem the praise of the earth. | 7and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth. |
The LORD has sworn with his right hand and his strong arm: I will no longer give your grain to your enemies for food, and foreigners will not drink the new wine for which you have labored. | 8The LORD has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm: “I will not again give your grain to be food for your enemies, and foreigners shall not drink your wine for which you have labored; |
For those who gather grain will eat it and praise the LORD, and those who harvest the grapes will drink the wine in my holy courts. | 9but those who garner it shall eat it and praise the LORD, and those who gather it shall drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.” |
Go out, go out through the city gates; prepare a way for the people! Build it up, build up the highway; clear away the stones! Raise a banner for the peoples. | 10Go through, go through the gates; prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway; clear it of stones; lift up a signal over the peoples. |
Look, the LORD has proclaimed to the ends of the earth, "Say to Daughter Zion: Look, your salvation is coming, his wages are with him, and his reward accompanies him." | 11Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, “Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.” |
And they will be called the Holy People, the LORD's Redeemed; and you will be called Cared For, A City Not Deserted. | 12And they shall be called The Holy People, The Redeemed of the LORD; and you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken. |
