| 1Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge. | 1A miktam of David. Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. |
| 2I said to the LORD, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.” | 2I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing." |
| 3The godly people in the land are my true heroes! I take pleasure in them! | 3I say of the holy people who are in the land, "They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight." |
| 4Troubles multiply for those who chase after other gods. I will not take part in their sacrifices of blood or even speak the names of their gods. | 4Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips. |
| 5LORD, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine. | 5LORD, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. |
| 6The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance! | 6The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. |
| 7I will bless the LORD who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. | 7I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. |
