New Living Translation | New International Version |
I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever. | 1A psalm of praise. Of David. I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. |
I will praise you every day; yes, I will praise you forever. | 2Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. |
Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. | 3Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. |
Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. | 4One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. |
I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles. | 5They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty-- and I will meditate on your wonderful works. |
Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim your greatness. | 6They tell of the power of your awesome works-- and I will proclaim your great deeds. |
Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about your righteousness. | 7They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. |
The LORD is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. | 8The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. |
The LORD is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation. | 9The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. |
All of your works will thank you, LORD, and your faithful followers will praise you. | 10All your works praise you, LORD; your faithful people extol you. |
They will speak of the glory of your kingdom; they will give examples of your power. | 11They tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, |
They will tell about your mighty deeds and about the majesty and glory of your reign. | 12so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. |
For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The LORD always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does. | 13Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does. |
The LORD helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads. | 14The LORD upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. |
The eyes of all look to you in hope; you give them their food as they need it. | 15The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. |
When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing. | 16You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. |
The LORD is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness. | 17The LORD is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. |
The LORD is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. | 18The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. |
He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them. | 19He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. |
The LORD protects all those who love him, but he destroys the wicked. | 20The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. |
I will praise the LORD, and may everyone on earth bless his holy name forever and ever. | 21My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever. |
