New King James Version | New Living Translation |
A Song. A Psalm of David. O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. | 1My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart! |
Awake, lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn. | 2Wake up, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song. |
I will praise You, O LORD, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. | 3I will thank you, LORD, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. |
For Your mercy is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the clouds. | 4For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. |
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth; | 5Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth. |
That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and hear me. | 6Now rescue your beloved people. Answer and save us by your power. |
God has spoken in His holiness: “I will rejoice; I will divide Shechem And measure out the Valley of Succoth. | 7God has promised this by his holiness : “I will divide up Shechem with joy. I will measure out the valley of Succoth. |
Gilead is Mine; Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet for My head; Judah is My lawgiver. | 8Gilead is mine, and Manasseh, too. Ephraim, my helmet, will produce my warriors, and Judah, my scepter, will produce my kings. |
Moab is My washpot; Over Edom I will cast My shoe; Over Philistia I will triumph.” | 9But Moab, my washbasin, will become my servant, and I will wipe my feet on Edom and shout in triumph over Philistia.” |
Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me to Edom? | 10Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who will bring me victory over Edom? |
Is it not You, O God, who cast us off? And You, O God, who did not go out with our armies? | 11Have you rejected us, O God? Will you no longer march with our armies? |
Give us help from trouble, For the help of man is useless. | 12Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless. |
Through God we will do valiantly, For it is He who shall tread down our enemies. | 13With God’s help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes. |
