New King James Version | NET Bible |
A Song. A Psalm of David. O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. | 1A song, a psalm of David. I am determined, O God! I will sing and praise you with my whole heart. |
Awake, lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn. | 2Awake, O stringed instrument and harp! I will wake up at dawn! |
I will praise You, O LORD, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. | 3I will give you thanks before the nations, O LORD! I will sing praises to you before foreigners! |
For Your mercy is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the clouds. | 4For your loyal love extends beyond the sky, and your faithfulness reaches the clouds. |
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth; | 5Rise up above the sky, O God! May your splendor cover the whole earth! |
That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and hear me. | 6Deliver by your power and answer me, so that the ones you love may be safe. |
God has spoken in His holiness: “I will rejoice; I will divide Shechem And measure out the Valley of Succoth. | 7God has spoken in his sanctuary: "I will triumph! I will parcel out Shechem, the valley of Succoth I will measure off. |
Gilead is Mine; Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet for My head; Judah is My lawgiver. | 8Gilead belongs to me, as does Manasseh! Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my royal scepter. |
Moab is My washpot; Over Edom I will cast My shoe; Over Philistia I will triumph.” | 9Moab is my wash basin. I will make Edom serve me. I will shout in triumph over Philistia." |
Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me to Edom? | 10Who will lead me into the fortified city? Who will bring me to Edom? |
Is it not You, O God, who cast us off? And You, O God, who did not go out with our armies? | 11Have you not rejected us, O God? O God, you do not go into battle with our armies. |
Give us help from trouble, For the help of man is useless. | 12Give us help against the enemy, for any help men might offer is futile. |
Through God we will do valiantly, For it is He who shall tread down our enemies. | 13By God's power we will conquer; he will trample down our enemies. |
