Psalm 71
NIV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionChristian Standard Bible
In you, LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame.1LORD, I seek refuge in you; let me never be disgraced.
In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me; turn your ear to me and save me.2In your justice, rescue and deliver me; listen closely to me and save me.
Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.3Be a rock of refuge for me, where I can always go. Give the command to save me, for you are my rock and fortress.
Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.4Deliver me, my God, from the power of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and oppressive.
For you have been my hope, Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth.5For you are my hope, Lord GOD, my confidence from my youth.
From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother's womb. I will ever praise you.6I have leaned on you from birth; you took me from my mother's womb. My praise is always about you.
I have become a sign to many; you are my strong refuge.7I am like a miraculous sign to many, and you are my strong refuge.
My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.8My mouth is full of praise and honor to you all day long.
Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.9Don't discard me in my old age. As my strength fails, do not abandon me.
For my enemies speak against me; those who wait to kill me conspire together.10For my enemies talk about me, and those who spy on me plot together,
They say, "God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for no one will rescue him."11saying, "God has abandoned him; chase him and catch him, for there is no one to rescue him."
Do not be far from me, my God; come quickly, God, to help me.12God, do not be far from me; my God, hurry to help me.
May my accusers perish in shame; may those who want to harm me be covered with scorn and disgrace.13May my adversaries be disgraced and destroyed; may those who intend to harm me be covered with disgrace and humiliation.
As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.14But I will hope continually and will praise you more and more.
My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds, of your saving acts all day long-- though I know not how to relate them all.15My mouth will tell about your righteousness and your salvation all day long, though I cannot sum them up.
I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign LORD; I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone.16I come because of the mighty acts of the Lord GOD; I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone.
Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.17God, you have taught me from my youth, and I still proclaim your wondrous works.
Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.18Even while I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me, while I proclaim your power to another generation, your strength to all who are to come.
Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens, you who have done great things. Who is like you, God?19Your righteousness reaches the heights, God, you who have done great things; God, who is like you?
Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up.20You caused me to experience many troubles and misfortunes, but you will revive me again. You will bring me up again, even from the depths of the earth.
You will increase my honor and comfort me once more.21You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.
I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.22Therefore, I will praise you with a harp for your faithfulness, my God; I will sing to you with a lyre, Holy One of Israel.
My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you-- I whom you have delivered.23My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you because you have redeemed me.
My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion.24Therefore, my tongue will proclaim your righteousness all day long, for those who intend to harm me will be disgraced and confounded.
