1After these things I heard what sounded like the loud voice of a vast throng in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! 2because his judgments are true and just. For he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and has avenged the blood of his servants poured out by her own hands!" | 2For His judgments are true and just. He has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has avenged the blood of His servants that was poured out by her hand.” |
3Then a second time the crowd shouted, "Hallelujah!" The smoke rises from her forever and ever. | 3And a second time they called out: “Hallelujah! Her smoke rises forever and ever.” |
4The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures threw themselves to the ground and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne, saying: "Amen! Hallelujah!" | 4And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne, saying: “Amen, Hallelujah!” |
5Then a voice came from the throne, saying: "Praise our God all you his servants, and all you who fear Him, both the small and the great!" | 5Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you who serve Him, and those who fear Him, small and great alike!” |

For the Lord our God, the All-Powerful, reigns! | 6And I heard a sound like the roar of a great multitude, like the rushing of many waters, and like a mighty rumbling of thunder, crying out: “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. |
7Let us rejoice and exult and give him glory, because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. | 7Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him the glory. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. |
8She was permitted to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen" (for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints). | 8She was given clothing of fine linen, bright and pure.” For the fine linen she wears is the righteous acts of the saints. |
9Then the angel said to me, "Write the following: Blessed are those who are invited to the banquet at the wedding celebration of the Lamb!" He also said to me, "These are the true words of God." | 9Then the angel told me to write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” |
10So I threw myself down at his feet to worship him, but he said, "Do not do this! I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony about Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." | 10So I fell at his feet to worship him. But he told me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who rely on the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” |
11Then I saw heaven opened and here came a white horse! The one riding it was called "Faithful" and "True," and with justice he judges and goes to war. | 11Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness He judges and wages war. |
12His eyes are like a fiery flame and there are many diadem crowns on his head. He has a name written that no one knows except himself. | 12He has eyes like blazing fire, and many royal crowns on His head. He has a name written on Him that only He Himself knows. |
13He is dressed in clothing dipped in blood, and he is called the Word of God. | 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is The Word of God. |
14The armies that are in heaven, dressed in white, clean, fine linen, were following him on white horses. | 14The armies of heaven, dressed in fine linen, white and pure, follow Him on white horses. |
15From his mouth extends a sharp sword, so that with it he can strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod, and he stomps the winepress of the furious wrath of God, the All-Powerful. | 15And from His mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. |
16He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh: "King of kings and Lord of lords." | 16And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. |
17Then I saw one angel standing in the sun, and he shouted in a loud voice to all the birds flying high in the sky: "Come, gather around for the great banquet of God, | 17Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out in a loud voice to all the birds flying overhead, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, |
18to eat your fill of the flesh of kings, the flesh of generals, the flesh of powerful people, the flesh of horses and those who ride them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slave, and small and great!" | 18so that you may eat the flesh of kings and commanders and mighty men, of horses and riders, of everyone slave and free, small and great.” |
19Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to do battle with the one who rode the horse and with his army. | 19Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies assembled to wage war against the One seated on the horse, and against His army. |
20Now the beast was seized, and along with him the false prophet who had performed the signs on his behalf--signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire burning with sulfur. | 20But the beast was captured along with the false prophet, who on its behalf had performed signs deceiving those who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. 21The others were killed by the sword that extended from the mouth of the one who rode the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves with their flesh. | 21And the rest were killed with the sword that proceeded from the mouth of the One seated on the horse.
