19All of the cities allocated to the priests, who were descendants of Aaron, numbered thirteen, along with their pasture lands. | 19In all, thirteen cities, together with their pasturelands, were given to the priests, the descendants of Aaron. |
20Cities from the tribe of Ephraim were also allotted to the families of the descendants of Kohath, that is, to the rest of the descendants of Kohath, who were descendants of Levi. | 20The remaining Kohathite clans of the Levites were allotted these cities: From the tribe of Ephraim |

25From the half-tribe of Manasseh were allocated Taanach with its pasture lands and Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands, for a total of two cities. | 25And from the half-tribe of Manasseh they were given Taanach and Gath-rimmon—two cities, together with their pasturelands. |
26All the cities with their pasture lands for the families of the rest of the descendants of Kohath numbered ten. | 26In all, ten cities, together with their pasturelands, were given to the rest of the Kohathite clans. |
27To the descendants of Gershon (one of the Levitical families) from the half-tribe of Manasseh were allocated Golan in Bashan as a city of refuge for unintentional killers, along with its pasture lands, and Beeshterah with its pasture lands, for a total of two cities. | 27This is what the Levite clans of the Gershonites were given: From the half-tribe of Manasseh they were given Golan in Bashan, a city of refuge for the manslayer, and Beeshterah—two cities, together with their pasturelands. |

32From the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its pasture lands were allocated as a city of refuge for the unintentional killer, Hammoth-dor with its pasture lands, and Kartan with its pasture lands, for a total of three cities. | 32And from the tribe of Naphtali they were given Kedesh in Galilee (a city of refuge for the manslayer), Hammoth-dor, and Kartan—three cities, together with their pasturelands. |
33All the cities of the descendants of Gershon according to their families totaled thirteen, including their pasture lands. | 33In all, thirteen cities, together with their pasturelands, were given to the Gershonite clans. |
34From the tribe of Zebulun were allocated to the descendants of Merari (that is, the rest of the descendants of Levi) Jokneam with its pasture lands, Kartah with its pasture lands, | 34This is what the Merarite clan (the rest of the Levites) were given: From the tribe of Zebulun they were given Jokneam, Kartah, |
35Dimnah with its pasture lands, and Nahalal with its pasture lands, for a total of four cities. | 35Dimnah, and Nahalal—four cities, together with their pasturelands. |
36 From the tribe of Reuben were allocated Bezer with its pasture lands, Jahaz with its pasture lands, | 36From the tribe of Reuben they were given Bezer, Jahaz, |

38From the tribe of Gad were allocated Ramoth in Gilead with its pasture lands, to serve as a city of refuge for the unintentional killer, Mahanaim with its pasture lands, | 38And from the tribe of Gad they were given Ramoth in Gilead, a city of refuge for the manslayer, Mahanaim, |
39Heshbon with its pasture lands, and Jazer with its pasture lands, for a total of four cities in all. | 39Heshbon, and Jazer—four cities in all, together with their pasturelands. |
40So the entire allocation to the descendants of Merari (that is, the rest of the families of the descendants of Levi) according to their families totaled twelve cities. | 40In all, twelve cities were allotted to the clans of Merari, the remaining Levite clans. |
41All of the cities of the descendants of Levi that had been set apart among the territorial possession of the Israelis totaled 48, along with their pasture lands. | 41For the Levites, then, there were forty-eight cities in all, together with their pasturelands, within the territory of the Israelites. |
42These cities were each surrounded by pasture lands, as was the case with all of these cities. | 42Each of these cities had its own surrounding pasturelands; this was true for all the cities. |
43So the LORD gave all of the land to Israel that he had promised to give their ancestors, and they took possession and settled there in it. | 43Thus the LORD gave Israel all the land He had sworn to give their fathers, and they took possession of it and settled in it. |
44The LORD gave them peace all around them, just as he had promised their ancestors. Not one of their enemies was able to oppose them—the LORD placed all of their enemies under their control. | 44And the LORD gave them rest on every side, just as He had sworn to their fathers. None of their enemies could stand against them, for the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. |
45Not one of the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel failed—all of them came about. | 45Not one of all the LORD’s good promises to the house of Israel had failed; everything was fulfilled. |
