Let the whole earth shout joyfully to God!1For the music director; a song, a psalm. Shout out praise to God, all the earth!
Sing about the glory of his name; make his praise glorious.2Sing praises about the majesty of his reputation! Give him the honor he deserves!
Say to God, "How awe-inspiring are your works! Your enemies will cringe before you because of your great strength.3Say to God: "How awesome are your deeds! Because of your great power your enemies cower in fear before you.
The whole earth will worship you and sing praise to you. They will sing praise to your name." Selah4All the earth worships you and sings praises to you! They sing praises to your name!" (Selah)
Come and see the wonders of God; his acts for humanity are awe-inspiring.5Come and witness God's exploits! His acts on behalf of people are awesome!
He turned the sea into dry land, and they crossed the river on foot. There we rejoiced in him.6He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. Let us rejoice in him there!
He rules forever by his might; he keeps his eye on the nations. The rebellious should not exalt themselves. Selah7He rules by his power forever; he watches the nations. Stubborn rebels should not exalt themselves. (Selah)
Bless our God, you peoples; let the sound of his praise be heard.8Praise our God, you nations! Loudly proclaim his praise!
He keeps us alive and does not allow our feet to slip.9He preserves our lives and does not allow our feet to slip.
For you, God, tested us; you refined us as silver is refined.10For you, O God, tested us; you purified us like refined silver.
You lured us into a trap; you placed burdens on our backs.11You led us into a trap; you caused us to suffer.
You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us out to abundance.12You allowed men to ride over our heads; we passed through fire and water, but you brought us out into a wide open place.
I will enter your house with burnt offerings; I will pay you my vows13I will enter your temple with burnt sacrifices; I will fulfill the vows I made to you,
that my lips promised and my mouth spoke during my distress.14which my lips uttered and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.
I will offer you fattened sheep as burnt offerings, with the fragrant smoke of rams; I will sacrifice bulls with goats. Selah15I will offer up to you fattened animals as burnt sacrifices, along with the smell of sacrificial rams. I will offer cattle and goats. (Selah)
Come and listen, all who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for me.16Come! Listen, all you who are loyal to God! I will declare what he has done for me.
I cried out to him with my mouth, and praise was on my tongue.17I cried out to him for help and praised him with my tongue.
If I had been aware of malice in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.18If I had harbored sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
However, God has listened; he has paid attention to the sound of my prayer.19However, God heard; he listened to my prayer.
Blessed be God! He has not turned away my prayer or turned his faithful love from me.20God deserves praise, for he did not reject my prayer or abandon his love for me!
