Brothers and sisters, if someone is overtaken in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual, restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so that you also won't be tempted. | 1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. |
Carry one another's burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. | 2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. |
For if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. | 3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. |
Let each person examine his own work, and then he can take pride in himself alone, and not compare himself with someone else. | 4But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. |
For each person will have to carry his own load. | 5For every man shall bear his own burden. |
Let the one who is taught the word share all his good things with the teacher. | 6Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. |
Don't be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a person sows he will also reap, | 7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. |
because the one who sows to his flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. | 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. |
Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don't give up. | 9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. |
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith. | 10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. |
Look at what large letters I use as I write to you in my own handwriting. | 11Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. |
Those who want to make a good impression in the flesh are the ones who would compel you to be circumcised--but only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. | 12As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. |
For even the circumcised don't keep the law themselves, and yet they want you to be circumcised in order to boast about your flesh. | 13For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. |
But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the cross, and I to the world. | 14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. |
For both circumcision and uncircumcision mean nothing; what matters instead is a new creation. | 15For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. |
May peace come to all those who follow this standard, and mercy even to the Israel of God! | 16And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. |
From now on, let no one cause me trouble, because I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. | 17From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. |
Brothers and sisters, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. | 18Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. |
