1A song. A Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my being. | 1A song, a psalm of David. I am determined, O God! I will sing and praise you with my whole heart. |
2Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. | 2Awake, O stringed instrument and harp! I will wake up at dawn! |
3I will praise You, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing Your praises among the peoples. | 3I will give you thanks before the nations, O LORD! I will sing praises to you before foreigners! |
4For Your loving devotion extends beyond the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. | 4For your loyal love extends beyond the sky, and your faithfulness reaches the clouds. |
5Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory cover all the earth. | 5Rise up above the sky, O God! May your splendor cover the whole earth! |
6Respond and save us with Your right hand, that Your beloved may be delivered. | 6Deliver by your power and answer me, so that the ones you love may be safe. |

8Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim is My helmet, Judah is My scepter. | 8Gilead belongs to me, as does Manasseh! Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my royal scepter. |
9Moab is My washbasin; upon Edom I toss My sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph.” | 9Moab is my wash basin. I will make Edom serve me. I will shout in triumph over Philistia." |
10Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? | 10Who will lead me into the fortified city? Who will bring me to Edom? |
11Have You not rejected us, O God? Will You no longer march out, O God, with our armies? | 11Have you not rejected us, O God? O God, you do not go into battle with our armies. |
12Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless. | 12Give us help against the enemy, for any help men might offer is futile. |
