James 1
Peshitta Holy Bible Translated Par ▾
1Yaqob the Servant of God and of our Lord Yeshua The Messiah to the twelve tribes which are scattered among the nations: Peace.

2May you have every joy, my brethren, when you enter various and many temptations, 3For you know that the trial of faith imparts to you patience. 4But patience will have a complete work for itself that you would be perfected and complete, and that you would be lacking nothing.

5But if anyone of you lacks wisdom, let him ask from God who gives to everyone simply, and does not reproach, and it will be given to him. 6But let him ask in faith, without wavering, for he who wavers is like the waves of the sea which the wind troubles, 7And let not that man think he will receive anything from THE LORD JEHOVAH. 8Whoever wavers in his mind is troubled in all his ways.

9But let the poor brother boast in his exaltation, 10And the rich man in his humiliation, because as a blossom of the grass, so he passes away. 11For the sun rises with its heat and shrivels the grass and the blossom falls and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed. So also the rich man fades in his ways.

12Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been tested, he will receive a crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

13A man should not say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”, for God is not acquainted with evil and he does not tempt a man. 14But each man is tempted from his own desire, and he lusts and he is seduced. 15And this desire becomes pregnant and gives birth to sin, but sin, when it has matured, gives birth to death. 16Do not go astray, my beloved brethren. 17Every good and perfect gift descends from above, from The Father of lights with whom there is no change nor a shadow of variation. 18He was pleased and gave birth to us by the word of the truth, that we would be the first fruits of his creation.

19And you, my beloved brethren, everyone of you should be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger. 20For the rage of man does not perform the righteousness of God. 21Therefore put away from you all abomination and the multitude of evils and in humility accept the word which is planted in our nature, which is able to save these souls of yours. 22But be a doer of the word and not only a hearer, and do not deceive yourselves. 23For if a man will be a hearer of the word and not a doer of it, this one is like one who sees his face in a mirror, 24For he sees himself and passes by and forgets how he was. 25But everyone who gazes into The Perfect Law of Liberty and continues in it, he is not a hearer who heard what is forgotten, but is a doer of the works, and this one shall be blessed in his work.

26And if a man thinks that he serves God, and does not hold his tongue, but deceives his heart, this person's service is worthless. 27For pure and holy ministry before God The Father is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their affliction, and for a man to keep his soul without defilement from the world.
