The term "additional" is not directly found in the text of the Bible; however, the concept of addition or increase is present throughout Scripture in various contexts, such as blessings, wisdom, and responsibilities. The idea of God adding to His people or their resources is a recurring theme, reflecting His provision and abundance.

Addition in Blessings and Prosperity

One of the most prominent examples of addition in the Bible is God's promise to bless and multiply His people. In Genesis 22:17, God promises Abraham, "I will surely bless you, and I will multiply your descendants like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore." This promise of multiplication is an assurance of God's faithfulness and His ability to provide abundantly beyond human expectation.

Similarly, in Deuteronomy 28:11, God promises Israel, "The LORD will make you prosper abundantly—in the fruit of your womb, the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your land." Here, the concept of addition is tied to obedience and covenant faithfulness, where God's people are assured of His generous provision.

Addition in Wisdom and Understanding

The Bible also speaks of addition in terms of wisdom and understanding. In Proverbs 9:9, it is written, "Instruct a wise man, and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man, and he will increase his learning." This verse highlights the principle that those who seek wisdom and instruction will experience an increase in their understanding, reflecting the value of continual growth in knowledge and discernment.

James 1:5 further emphasizes this by encouraging believers to seek wisdom from God: "Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." The promise of additional wisdom is available to those who earnestly seek it from the Lord.

Addition in Responsibilities and Stewardship

The concept of addition is also evident in the parables of Jesus, particularly in the context of stewardship. In the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30), the servants who wisely invest their master's resources are rewarded with additional responsibilities and blessings. Matthew 25:29 states, "For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away."

This principle underscores the importance of faithful stewardship and the expectation that God's people will use their gifts and resources wisely, leading to further opportunities and responsibilities.

Addition in the Kingdom of God

In the New Testament, the concept of addition is also seen in the growth of the early church. Acts 2:47 describes the early believers, "praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." This addition reflects the dynamic and expanding nature of the Kingdom of God as more individuals come to faith in Christ.

The idea of addition in the Bible, while not always explicitly stated, is woven throughout the narrative of Scripture, illustrating God's desire to bless, increase, and expand His work in and through His people.
