But you have made it a den of thieves!" |

The fig tree that you cursed has withered.” | 21Being reminded, Peter said to Him, "Rabbi, look, the fig tree which You cursed has withered." | 21And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. | 21Then Peter remembered and said to Him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree that You cursed is withered." |

23"Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. | 23Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. | 23"Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. | 23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. | 23I assure you: If anyone says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. |
24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. | 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. | 24"Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you. | 24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. | 24Therefore I tell you, all the things you pray and ask for--believe that you have received them, and you will have them. |
25And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." | 25And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” | 25"Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. | 25And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. | 25And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your wrongdoing. |

Jesus' Authority Challenged
(Matthew 21:23-27; Luke 20:1-8) 27They arrived again in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to him. | 27And they came again to Jerusalem. And as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to him, | 27They came again to Jerusalem. And as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to Him, | 27And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders, | 27They came again to Jerusalem. As He was walking in the temple complex, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came |
28"By what authority are you doing these things?" they asked. "And who gave you authority to do this?" | 28and they said to him, “By what authority are you doing these things, or who gave you this authority to do them?” | 28and began saying to Him, "By what authority are You doing these things, or who gave You this authority to do these things?" | 28And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things? | 28and asked Him, "By what authority are You doing these things? Who gave You this authority to do these things?" |
29Jesus replied, "I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. | 29Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. | 29And Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one question, and you answer Me, and then I will tell you by what authority I do these things. | 29And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. | 29Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one question; then answer Me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. |
30John's baptism--was it from heaven, or of human origin? Tell me!" | 30Was the baptism of John from heaven or from man? Answer me.” | 30"Was the baptism of John from heaven, or from men? Answer Me." | 30The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me. | 30Was John's baptism from heaven or from men? Answer Me." |
31They discussed it among themselves and said, "If we say, 'From heaven,' he will ask, 'Then why didn't you believe him?' | 31And they discussed it with one another, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ | 31They began reasoning among themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven,' He will say, 'Then why did you not believe him?' | 31And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him? | 31They began to argue among themselves: "If we say, 'From heaven,' He will say, 'Then why didn't you believe him?' |
32But if we say, 'Of human origin' . . . " (They feared the people, for everyone held that John really was a prophet.) | 32But shall we say, ‘From man’?”—they were afraid of the people, for they all held that John really was a prophet. | 32"But shall we say, 'From men '?"-- they were afraid of the people, for everyone considered John to have been a real prophet. | 32But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed. | 32But if we say, 'From men"--they were afraid of the crowd, because everyone thought that John was a genuine prophet. |
33So they answered Jesus, "We don't know." Jesus said, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things." | 33So they answered Jesus, “We do not know.” And Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.” | 33Answering Jesus, they said, "We do not know." And Jesus said to them, "Nor will I tell you by what authority I do these things." | 33And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things. | 33So they answered Jesus, "We don't know." And Jesus said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things." |
