| 1The craftsmen made beautiful sacred garments of blue, purple, and scarlet cloth—clothing for Aaron to wear while ministering in the Holy Place, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. Making the Ephod | 1From the blue and purple and scarlet yarns they made finely woven garments, for ministering in the Holy Place. They made the holy garments for Aaron, as the LORD had commanded Moses. |
| 2Bezalel made the ephod of finely woven linen and embroidered it with gold and with blue, purple, and scarlet thread. | 2He made the ephod of gold, blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and fine twined linen. |
| 3He made gold thread by hammering out thin sheets of gold and cutting it into fine strands. With great skill and care, he worked it into the fine linen with the blue, purple, and scarlet thread. | 3And they hammered out gold leaf, and he cut it into threads to work into the blue and purple and the scarlet yarns, and into the fine twined linen, in skilled design. |
| 4The ephod consisted of two pieces, front and back, joined at the shoulders with two shoulder-pieces. | 4They made for the ephod attaching shoulder pieces, joined to it at its two edges. |
| 5The decorative sash was made of the same materials: finely woven linen embroidered with gold and with blue, purple, and scarlet thread, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. | 5And the skillfully woven band on it was of one piece with it and made like it, of gold, blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and fine twined linen, as the LORD had commanded Moses. |
| 6They mounted the two onyx stones in settings of gold filigree. The stones were engraved with the names of the tribes of Israel, just as a seal is engraved. | 6They made the onyx stones, enclosed in settings of gold filigree, and engraved like the engravings of a signet, according to the names of the sons of Israel. |
| 7He fastened these stones on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod as a reminder that the priest represents the people of Israel. All this was done just as the LORD had commanded Moses. Making the Chestpiece | 7And he set them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod to be stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel, as the LORD had commanded Moses. |
| 8Bezalel made the chestpiece with great skill and care. He made it to match the ephod, using finely woven linen embroidered with gold and with blue, purple, and scarlet thread. | 8He made the breastpiece, in skilled work, in the style of the ephod, of gold, blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and fine twined linen. |
| 9He made the chestpiece of a single piece of cloth folded to form a pouch nine inches square. | 9It was square. They made the breastpiece doubled, a span its length and a span its breadth when doubled. |
| 10They mounted four rows of gemstones on it. The first row contained a red carnelian, a pale-green peridot, and an emerald. | 10And they set in it four rows of stones. A row of sardius, topaz, and carbuncle was the first row; |
| 11The second row contained a turquoise, a blue lapis lazuli, and a white moonstone. | 11and the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond; |
| 12The third row contained an orange jacinth, an agate, and a purple amethyst. | 12and the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst; |
| 13The fourth row contained a blue-green beryl, an onyx, and a green jasper. All these stones were set in gold filigree. | 13and the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They were enclosed in settings of gold filigree. |
| 14Each stone represented one of the twelve sons of Israel, and the name of that tribe was engraved on it like a seal. | 14There were twelve stones with their names according to the names of the sons of Israel. They were like signets, each engraved with its name, for the twelve tribes. |
| 15To attach the chestpiece to the ephod, they made braided cords of pure gold thread. | 15And they made on the breastpiece twisted chains like cords, of pure gold. |
| 16They also made two settings of gold filigree and two gold rings and attached them to the top corners of the chestpiece. | 16And they made two settings of gold filigree and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two edges of the breastpiece. |
| 17They tied the two gold cords to the rings on the chestpiece. | 17And they put the two cords of gold in the two rings at the edges of the breastpiece. |
| 18They tied the other ends of the cords to the gold settings on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod. | 18They attached the two ends of the two cords to the two settings of filigree. Thus they attached it in front to the shoulder pieces of the ephod. |
| 19Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the inside edges of the chestpiece next to the ephod. | 19Then they made two rings of gold, and put them at the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inside edge next to the ephod. |
| 20Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the front of the ephod, below the shoulder-pieces, just above the knot where the decorative sash was fastened to the ephod. | 20And they made two rings of gold, and attached them in front to the lower part of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, at its seam above the skillfully woven band of the ephod. |
| 21They attached the bottom rings of the chestpiece to the rings on the ephod with blue cords. In this way, the chestpiece was held securely to the ephod above the decorative sash. All this was done just as the LORD had commanded Moses. Additional Clothing for the Priests | 21And they bound the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, so that it should lie on the skillfully woven band of the ephod, and that the breastpiece should not come loose from the ephod, as the LORD had commanded Moses. |
| 22Bezalel made the robe that is worn with the ephod from a single piece of blue woven cloth, | 22He also made the robe of the ephod woven all of blue, |
| 23with an opening for Aaron’s head in the middle of it. The opening was reinforced with a woven collar so it would not tear. | 23and the opening of the robe in it was like the opening in a garment, with a binding around the opening, so that it might not tear. |
| 24They made pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and attached them to the hem of the robe. | 24On the hem of the robe they made pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen. |
| 25They also made bells of pure gold and placed them between the pomegranates along the hem of the robe, | 25They also made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates all around the hem of the robe, between the pomegranates— |
| 26with bells and pomegranates alternating all around the hem. This robe was to be worn whenever the priest ministered before the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. | 26a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate around the hem of the robe for ministering, as the LORD had commanded Moses. |
| 27They made tunics for Aaron and his sons from fine linen cloth. | 27They also made the coats, woven of fine linen, for Aaron and his sons, |
| 28The turban and the special head coverings were made of fine linen, and the undergarments were also made of finely woven linen. | 28and the turban of fine linen, and the caps of fine linen, and the linen undergarments of fine twined linen, |
| 29The sashes were made of finely woven linen and embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet thread, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. | 29and the sash of fine twined linen and of blue and purple and scarlet yarns, embroidered with needlework, as the LORD had commanded Moses. |
| 30Finally, they made the sacred medallion—the badge of holiness—of pure gold. They engraved it like a seal with these words: Holy to the Lord . | 30They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote on it an inscription, like the engraving of a signet, “Holy to the LORD.” |
| 31They attached the medallion with a blue cord to Aaron’s turban, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. Moses Inspects the Work | 31And they tied to it a cord of blue to fasten it on the turban above, as the LORD had commanded Moses. |
| 32And so at last the Tabernacle was finished. The Israelites had done everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses. | 32Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was finished, and the people of Israel did according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses; so they did. |
| 33And they brought the entire Tabernacle to Moses: the sacred tent with all its furnishings, clasps, frames, crossbars, posts, and bases; | 33Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent and all its utensils, its hooks, its frames, its bars, its pillars, and its bases; |
| 34the tent coverings of tanned ram skins and fine goatskin leather; the inner curtain to shield the Ark; | 34the covering of tanned rams’ skins and goatskins, and the veil of the screen; |
| 35the Ark of the Covenant and its carrying poles; the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement; | 35the ark of the testimony with its poles and the mercy seat; |

| 38the gold altar; the anointing oil and fragrant incense; the curtain for the entrance of the sacred tent; | 38the golden altar, the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, and the screen for the entrance of the tent; |
| 39the bronze altar; the bronze grating and its carrying poles and utensils; the washbasin with its stand; | 39the bronze altar, and its grating of bronze, its poles, and all its utensils; the basin and its stand; |
| 40the curtains for the walls of the courtyard; the posts and their bases; the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard; the ropes and tent pegs; all the furnishings to be used in worship at the Tabernacle; | 40the hangings of the court, its pillars, and its bases, and the screen for the gate of the court, its cords, and its pegs; and all the utensils for the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of meeting; |
| 41the beautifully stitched garments for the priests to wear while ministering in the Holy Place—the sacred garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons to wear as they minister as priests. | 41the finely worked garments for ministering in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons for their service as priests. |
| 42So the people of Israel followed all of the LORD’s instructions to Moses. | 42According to all that the LORD had commanded Moses, so the people of Israel had done all the work. |
| 43Then Moses inspected all their work. When he found it had been done just as the LORD had commanded him, he blessed them. | 43And Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it; as the LORD had commanded, so had they done it. Then Moses blessed them. |
