| 1Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. | 1Brothers and sisters, if a person is discovered in some sin, you who are spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness. Pay close attention to yourselves, so that you are not tempted too. |

| 12As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. | 12Those who want to make a good showing in external matters are trying to force you to be circumcised. They do so only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. |
| 13For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. | 13For those who are circumcised do not obey the law themselves, but they want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your flesh. |
| 14But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. | 14But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. |
| 15For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. | 15For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that matters is a new creation! |
