1Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.1Masters, treat your bondservants justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.
2Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;2Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
3meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,3At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison—
4that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.4that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.
5Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.5Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.

8I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that he may know your circumstances and comfort your hearts,8I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are and that he may encourage your hearts,

17And say to Archippus, “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.”17And say to Archippus, “See that you fulfill the ministry that you have received in the Lord.”
