Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said:1The LORD answered Job:
“Shall the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? He who rebukes God, let him answer it.”2Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who argues with God give an answer.
Then Job answered the LORD and said:3Then Job answered the LORD:
“Behold, I am vile; What shall I answer You? I lay my hand over my mouth.4I am so insignificant. How can I answer you? I place my hand over my mouth.
Once I have spoken, but I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”5I have spoken once, and I will not reply; twice, but now I can add nothing.
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:6Then the LORD answered Job from the whirlwind:
“Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me:7Get ready to answer me like a man; When I question you, you will inform me.
“Would you indeed annul My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified?8Would you really challenge my justice? Would you declare me guilty to justify yourself?
Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like His?9Do you have an arm like God's? Can you thunder with a voice like his?
Then adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, And array yourself with glory and beauty.10Adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, and clothe yourself with honor and glory.
Disperse the rage of your wrath; Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him.11Pour out your raging anger; look on every proud person and humiliate him.
Look on everyone who is proud, and bring him low; Tread down the wicked in their place.12Look on every proud person and humble him; trample the wicked where they stand.
Hide them in the dust together, Bind their faces in hidden darkness.13Hide them together in the dust; imprison them in the grave.
Then I will also confess to you That your own right hand can save you.14Then I will confess to you that your own right hand can deliver you.
“Look now at the behemoth, which I made along with you; He eats grass like an ox.15Look at Behemoth, which I made along with you. He eats grass like cattle.
See now, his strength is in his hips, And his power is in his stomach muscles.16Look at the strength of his back and the power in the muscles of his belly.
He moves his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are tightly knit.17He stiffens his tail like a cedar tree; the tendons of his thighs are woven firmly together.
His bones are like beams of bronze, His ribs like bars of iron.18His bones are bronze tubes; his limbs are like iron rods.
He is the first of the ways of God; Only He who made him can bring near His sword.19He is the foremost of God's works; only his Maker can draw the sword against him.
Surely the mountains yield food for him, And all the beasts of the field play there.20The hills yield food for him, while all sorts of wild animals play there.
He lies under the lotus trees, In a covert of reeds and marsh.21He lies under the lotus plants, hiding in the protection of marshy reeds.
The lotus trees cover him with their shade; The willows by the brook surround him.22Lotus plants cover him with their shade; the willows by the brook surround him.
Indeed the river may rage, Yet he is not disturbed; He is confident, though the Jordan gushes into his mouth,23Though the river rages, Behemoth is unafraid; he remains confident, even if the Jordan surges up to his mouth.
Though he takes it in his eyes, Or one pierces his nose with a snare.24Can anyone capture him while he looks on, or pierce his nose with snares?
