| 1Woe to you, destroyer, you who have not been destroyed! Woe to you, betrayer, you who have not been betrayed! When you stop destroying, you will be destroyed; when you stop betraying, you will be betrayed. | 1Woe to you, O destroyer, While you were not destroyed; And he who is treacherous, while others did not deal treacherously with him. As soon as you finish destroying, you will be destroyed; As soon as you cease to deal treacherously, others will deal treacherously with you. |
| 2LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress. | 2O LORD, be gracious to us; we have waited for You. Be their strength every morning, Our salvation also in the time of distress. |

| 14The sinners in Zion are terrified; trembling grips the godless: "Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?" | 14Sinners in Zion are terrified; Trembling has seized the godless. "Who among us can live with the consuming fire? Who among us can live with continual burning?" |
| 15Those who walk righteously and speak what is right, who reject gain from extortion and keep their hands from accepting bribes, who stop their ears against plots of murder and shut their eyes against contemplating evil-- | 15He who walks righteously and speaks with sincerity, He who rejects unjust gain And shakes his hands so that they hold no bribe; He who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed And shuts his eyes from looking upon evil; |
| 16they are the ones who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress. Their bread will be supplied, and water will not fail them. | 16He will dwell on the heights, His refuge will be the impregnable rock; His bread will be given him, His water will be sure. |
| 17Your eyes will see the king in his beauty and view a land that stretches afar. | 17Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; They will behold a far-distant land. |
| 18In your thoughts you will ponder the former terror: "Where is that chief officer? Where is the one who took the revenue? Where is the officer in charge of the towers?" | 18Your heart will meditate on terror: "Where is he who counts? Where is he who weighs? Where is he who counts the towers?" |
| 19You will see those arrogant people no more, people whose speech is obscure, whose language is strange and incomprehensible. | 19You will no longer see a fierce people, A people of unintelligible speech which no one comprehends, Of a stammering tongue which no one understands. |
| 20Look on Zion, the city of our festivals; your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful abode, a tent that will not be moved; its stakes will never be pulled up, nor any of its ropes broken. | 20Look upon Zion, the city of our appointed feasts; Your eyes will see Jerusalem, an undisturbed habitation, A tent which will not be folded; Its stakes will never be pulled up, Nor any of its cords be torn apart. |
| 21There the LORD will be our Mighty One. It will be like a place of broad rivers and streams. | 23Your rigging hangs loose: The mast is not held secure, the sail is not spread. Then an abundance of spoils will be divided and even the lame will carry off plunder. | 23Your tackle hangs slack; It cannot hold the base of its mast firmly, Nor spread out the sail. Then the prey of an abundant spoil will be divided; The lame will take the plunder. |
| 24No one living in Zion will say, "I am ill"; and the sins of those who dwell there will be forgiven. | 24And no resident will say, "I am sick"; The people who dwell there will be forgiven their iniquity. |
