| 1For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David. Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. | 1To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. |
| 2Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. | 2He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. |
| 3How long will you assault me? Would all of you throw me down-- this leaning wall, this tottering fence? | 3How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence. |
| 4Surely they intend to topple me from my lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse. | 4They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah. |

| 9Surely the lowborn are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie. If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath. | 9Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity. |
