New International Version | King James Bible |
A song. A psalm of David. My heart, O God, is steadfast; I will sing and make music with all my soul. | 1A Song or Psalm of David. O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. |
Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. | 2Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. |
I will praise you, LORD, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. | 3I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. |
For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. | 4For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds. |
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth. | 5Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth; |
Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered. | 6That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me. |
God has spoken from his sanctuary: "In triumph I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the Valley of Sukkoth. | 7God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. |
Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah is my scepter. | 8Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; |
Moab is my washbasin, on Edom I toss my sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph." | 9Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph. |
Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? | 10Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? |
Is it not you, God, you who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies? | 11Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts? |
Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless. | 12Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. |
With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies. | 13Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. |
