Song of Solomon 2
NET Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew International Version
I am a meadow flower from Sharon, a lily from the valleys. 1I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.
Like a lily among the thorns, so is my darling among the maidens. 2Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the young women.
Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste. 3Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.
He brought me into the banquet hall, and he looked at me lovingly. 4Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love.
Sustain me with raisin cakes, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love. The Double Refrain: Embracing and Adjuration 5Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love.
His left hand caresses my head, and his right hand stimulates me. 6His left arm is under my head, and his right arm embraces me.
I adjure you, O maidens of Jerusalem, by the gazelles and by the young does of the open fields: Do not awaken or arouse love until it pleases! 7Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.
Listen! My lover is approaching! Look! Here he comes, leaping over the mountains, bounding over the hills! 8Listen! My beloved! Look! Here he comes, leaping across the mountains, bounding over the hills.
My lover is like a gazelle or a young stag. Look! There he stands behind our wall, gazing through the window, peering through the lattice. 9My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Look! There he stands behind our wall, gazing through the windows, peering through the lattice.
My lover spoke to me, saying: "Arise, my darling; My beautiful one, come away with me! 10My beloved spoke and said to me, "Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me.
Look! The winter has passed, the winter rains are over and gone. 11See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.
The pomegranates have appeared in the land, the time for pruning and singing has come; the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. 12Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.
The fig tree has budded, the vines have blossomed and give off their fragrance. Arise, come away my darling; my beautiful one, come away with me!" 13The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me."
O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places of the mountain crags, let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely. 14My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.
Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes, that ruin the vineyards--for our vineyard is in bloom. 15Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.
My lover is mine and I am his; he grazes among the lilies. 16My beloved is mine and I am his; he browses among the lilies.
Until the dawn arrives and the shadows flee, turn, my beloved--be like a gazelle or a young stag on the mountain gorges. 17Until the day breaks and the shadows flee, turn, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or like a young stag on the rugged hills.
