Give thanks to the LORD! Call on his name! Make known his accomplishments among the nations! 1O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
Sing to him! Make music to him! Tell about all his miraculous deeds! 2Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
Boast about his holy name! Let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! 3Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
Seek the LORD and the strength he gives! Seek his presence continually! 4Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
Recall the miraculous deeds he performed, his mighty acts and the judgments he decreed, 5Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
O children of Abraham, God's servant, you descendants of Jacob, God's chosen ones! 6O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
He is the LORD our God; he carries out judgment throughout the earth. 7He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
He always remembers his covenantal decree, the promise he made to a thousand generations--8He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
the promise he made to Abraham, the promise he made by oath to Isaac! 9Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
He gave it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as a lasting promise, 10And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance." 11Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
When they were few in number, just a very few, and resident aliens within it, 12When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
they wandered from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another. 13When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
He let no one oppress them; he disciplined kings for their sake, 14He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
saying, "Don't touch my chosen ones! Don't harm my prophets!" 15Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
He called down a famine upon the earth; he cut off all the food supply. 16Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.
He sent a man ahead of them--Joseph was sold as a servant. 17He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
The shackles hurt his feet; his neck was placed in an iron collar, 18Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
until the time when his prediction came true. The LORD's word proved him right. 19Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.
The king authorized his release; the ruler of nations set him free. 20The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
He put him in charge of his palace, and made him manager of all his property, 21He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
giving him authority to imprison his officials and to teach his advisers. 22To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.
Israel moved to Egypt; Jacob lived for a time in the land of Ham. 23Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
The LORD made his people very fruitful, and made them more numerous than their enemies. 24And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
He caused them to hate his people, and to mistreat his servants. 25He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, whom he had chosen. 26He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
They executed his miraculous signs among them, and his amazing deeds in the land of Ham. 27They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
He made it dark; they did not disobey his orders. 28He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
He turned their water into blood, and killed their fish. 29He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
Their land was overrun by frogs, which even got into the rooms of their kings. 30Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
He ordered flies to come; gnats invaded their whole territory. 31He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.
He sent hail along with the rain; there was lightning in their land. 32He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
He destroyed their vines and fig trees, and broke the trees throughout their territory. 33He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.
He ordered locusts to come, innumerable grasshoppers. 34He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,
They ate all the vegetation in their land, and devoured the crops of their fields. 35And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
He struck down all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of their reproductive power. 36He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
He brought his people out enriched with silver and gold; none of his tribes stumbled. 37He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
Egypt was happy when they left, for they were afraid of them. 38Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
He spread out a cloud for a cover, and provided a fire to light up the night. 39He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
They asked for food, and he sent quails; he satisfied them with food from the sky. 40The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
He opened up a rock and water flowed out; a river ran through dry regions. 41He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
Yes, he remembered the sacred promise he made to Abraham his servant. 42For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
When he led his people out, they rejoiced; his chosen ones shouted with joy. 43And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
He handed the territory of nations over to them, and they took possession of what other peoples had produced, 44And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
so that they might keep his commands and obey his laws. Praise the LORD! 45That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.
