Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up Your power And come to save us! | 2before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh. Rally Your power and come to save us. |
O God, restore us And cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved. | 3Restore us, God; look on us with favor, and we will be saved. |
O LORD God of hosts, How long will You be angry with the prayer of Your people? | 4 LORD God of Hosts, how long will You be angry with Your people's prayers? |
You have fed them with the bread of tears, And You have made them to drink tears in large measure. | 5You fed them the bread of tears and gave them a full measure of tears to drink. |
You make us an object of contention to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves. | 6You make us quarrel with our neighbors; our enemies make fun of us. |
O God of hosts, restore us And cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved. | 7Restore us, God of Hosts; look on us with favor, and we will be saved. |
You removed a vine from Egypt; You drove out the nations and planted it. | 8You uprooted a vine from Egypt; You drove out the nations and planted it. |
You cleared the ground before it, And it took deep root and filled the land. | 9You cleared a place for it; it took root and filled the land. |
The mountains were covered with its shadow, And the cedars of God with its boughs. | 10The mountains were covered by its shade, and the mighty cedars with its branches. |
It was sending out its branches to the sea And its shoots to the River. | 11It sent out sprouts toward the Sea and shoots toward the River. |
Why have You broken down its hedges, So that all who pass that way pick its fruit? | 12Why have You broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its fruit? |
A boar from the forest eats it away And whatever moves in the field feeds on it. | 13The boar from the forest tears it and creatures of the field feed on it. |
O God of hosts, turn again now, we beseech You; Look down from heaven and see, and take care of this vine, | 14Return, God of Hosts. Look down from heaven and see; take care of this vine, |
Even the shoot which Your right hand has planted, And on the son whom You have strengthened for Yourself. | 15the root Your right hand has planted, the shoot that You made strong for Yourself. |
It is burned with fire, it is cut down; They perish at the rebuke of Your countenance. | 16It was cut down and burned up; they perish at the rebuke of Your countenance. |
Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, Upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself. | 17Let Your hand be with the man at Your right hand, with the son of man You have made strong for Yourself. |
Then we shall not turn back from You; Revive us, and we will call upon Your name. | 18Then we will not turn away from You; revive us, and we will call on Your name. |
O LORD God of hosts, restore us; Cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved. | 19Restore us, Yahweh, the God of Hosts; look on us with favor, and we will be saved. |
