For the choir director; set to El Shoshannim; Eduth. A Psalm of Asaph. Oh, give ear, Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who are enthroned above the cherubim, shine forth!1For the choir director: according to "The Lilies." A testimony of Asaph. A psalm. Listen, Shepherd of Israel, who leads Joseph like a flock; You who sit enthroned on the cherubim, rise up
Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up Your power And come to save us!2before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh. Rally Your power and come to save us.
O God, restore us And cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved.3Restore us, God; look on us with favor, and we will be saved.
O LORD God of hosts, How long will You be angry with the prayer of Your people?4 LORD God of Hosts, how long will You be angry with Your people's prayers?
You have fed them with the bread of tears, And You have made them to drink tears in large measure.5You fed them the bread of tears and gave them a full measure of tears to drink.
You make us an object of contention to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves.6You make us quarrel with our neighbors; our enemies make fun of us.
O God of hosts, restore us And cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved.7Restore us, God of Hosts; look on us with favor, and we will be saved.
You removed a vine from Egypt; You drove out the nations and planted it.8You uprooted a vine from Egypt; You drove out the nations and planted it.
You cleared the ground before it, And it took deep root and filled the land.9You cleared a place for it; it took root and filled the land.
The mountains were covered with its shadow, And the cedars of God with its boughs.10The mountains were covered by its shade, and the mighty cedars with its branches.
It was sending out its branches to the sea And its shoots to the River.11It sent out sprouts toward the Sea and shoots toward the River.
Why have You broken down its hedges, So that all who pass that way pick its fruit?12Why have You broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its fruit?
A boar from the forest eats it away And whatever moves in the field feeds on it.13The boar from the forest tears it and creatures of the field feed on it.
O God of hosts, turn again now, we beseech You; Look down from heaven and see, and take care of this vine,14Return, God of Hosts. Look down from heaven and see; take care of this vine,
Even the shoot which Your right hand has planted, And on the son whom You have strengthened for Yourself.15the root Your right hand has planted, the shoot that You made strong for Yourself.
It is burned with fire, it is cut down; They perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.16It was cut down and burned up; they perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.
Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, Upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself.17Let Your hand be with the man at Your right hand, with the son of man You have made strong for Yourself.
Then we shall not turn back from You; Revive us, and we will call upon Your name.18Then we will not turn away from You; revive us, and we will call on Your name.
O LORD God of hosts, restore us; Cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved.19Restore us, Yahweh, the God of Hosts; look on us with favor, and we will be saved.
