Psalm 30
KJV Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew International Version
A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David. I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.1A psalm. A song. For the dedication of the temple. Of David. I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.2LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.
O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.3You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.
Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.4Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.5For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.6When I felt secure, I said, "I will never be shaken."
LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.7LORD, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed.
I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication.8To you, LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy:
What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?9"What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.10Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help."
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;11You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.12that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.
