A Song or Psalm of David. O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. | 1A Song, a Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul. |
Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. | 2Awake, harp and lyre; I will awaken the dawn! |
I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. | 3I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. |
For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds. | 4For Your lovingkindness is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the skies. |
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth; | 5Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth. |
That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me. | 6That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and answer me! |
God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. | 7God has spoken in His holiness: "I will exult, I will portion out Shechem And measure out the valley of Succoth. |
Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; | 8"Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet of My head; Judah is My scepter. |
Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph. | 9"Moab is My washbowl; Over Edom I shall throw My shoe; Over Philistia I will shout aloud." |
Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? | 10Who will bring me into the besieged city? Who will lead me to Edom? |
Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts? | 11Have not You Yourself, O God, rejected us? And will You not go forth with our armies, O God? |
Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. | 12Oh give us help against the adversary, For deliverance by man is in vain. |
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. | 13Through God we will do valiantly, And it is He who shall tread down our adversaries. |
