| 1In you, LORD, I take refuge; let me never be humiliated. | 1In you, LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame. |
| 2Rescue and deliver me, because you are righteous. Turn your ear to me and save me. | 2In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me; turn your ear to me and save me. |
| 3Be my sheltering refuge where I may go continuously; command my deliverance for you are my rock and fortress. | 3Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress. |
| 4My God, deliver me from the power of the wicked and the grasp of ruthless practicers of evil. | 4Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel. |
| 5For you are my hope, Lord GOD, my security since I was young. | 5For you have been my hope, Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth. |
| 6I depended on you since birth, when you brought me from my mother's womb; I praise you continuously. | 6From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother's womb. I will ever praise you. |

| 10For my enemies talk against me; those who seek to kill me plot together | 10For my enemies speak against me; those who wait to kill me conspire together. |
| 11and say, "God has abandoned him. Run after him and seize him, because there's no deliverer." | 11They say, "God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for no one will rescue him." |

| 20God, who can compare to you, who caused me to experience troubles that were numerous and disastrous? You will return to revive me and lift me up from the depths of the earth. | 20Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. |
| 21You will increase my honor and comfort me once again. | 21You will increase my honor and comfort me once more. |
