| 1The one who lives in the shelter of the Most High, who rests in the shadow of the Almighty, | 1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. |
| 2will say to the LORD, "You are my refuge, my fortress, and my God in whom I trust!" | 2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. |
| 3He will surely deliver you from the hunter's snare and from the destructive plague. | 3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. |
| 4With his feathers he will cover you, under his wings you will find safety. His truth is your shield and armor. | 4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. |
| 5You need not fear terror that stalks in the night, the arrow that flies in the day, | 5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; |
| 6plague that strikes in the darkness, or calamity that destroys at noon. | 6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. |
| 7If a thousand fall at your side or ten thousand at your right hand, it will not overcome you. | 7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. |
| 8Only observe it with your eyes, and you will see how the wicked are paid back. | 8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. |
| 9"LORD, you are my refuge!" Because you chose the Most High as your dwelling place, | 9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; |
| 10no evil will fall upon you, and no affliction will approach your tent, | 10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. |
| 11for he will command his angels to protect you in all your ways. | 11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. |
| 12With their hands they will lift you up so you will not trip over a stone. | 12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. |
| 13You will stomp on lions and snakes; you will trample young lions and serpents. | 13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. |
| 14Because he has focused his love on me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows my name. | 14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. |
| 15When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in his distress. I will deliver him, and I will honor him. | 15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. |
| 16I will satisfy him with long life; I will show him my deliverance. | 16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. |
