He turned the sea into dry land. Israel crossed the river on foot; let us rejoice in him. | 6He turned the sea into dry land, and they crossed the river on foot. There we rejoiced in Him. |

He gives us life and does not permit our feet to slip. | 9He keeps us alive and does not allow our feet to slip. |
For you, God, tested us, to purify us like fine silver. | 10For You, God, tested us; You refined us as silver is refined. |
You have led us into a trap and set burdens on our backs. | 11You lured us into a trap; You placed burdens on our backs. |
You caused men to ride over us. You brought us through fire and water, but you led us to abundance. | 12You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but You brought us out to abundance. |

Were I to cherish iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not listen to me. | 18If I had been aware of malice in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. |
Surely God has heard, and he paid attention to my prayers. | 19However, God has listened; He has paid attention to the sound of my prayer. |
Blessed be God, who did not turn away my prayers nor his gracious love from me. | 20May God be praised! He has not turned away my prayer or turned His faithful love from me. |
