| 2Pay attention to me and answer me. I moan and groan in my thoughts, | 2Pay attention to me and answer me. I am restless and in turmoil with my complaint, |
| 3because of the voice of the enemy, and because of the oppression of the wicked. They bring down evil upon me, and in anger they hate me. | 3because of the enemy's voice, because of the pressure of the wicked. For they bring down disaster on me and harass me in anger. |
| 4My heart is trembling within me, and the terrors of death have assaulted me. | 4My heart shudders within me; terrors of death sweep over me. |
