Corinthians 13

Holman Christian Standard BibleKing James Bible
If I speak human or angelic languages but do not have love, I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. 2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body in order to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing. 3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not conceited, 4Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
does not act improperly, is not selfish, is not provoked, and does not keep a record of wrongs. 5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. 6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for languages, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. 8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
But when the perfect comes, the partial will come to an end. 10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put aside childish things. 11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, as I am fully known. 12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. 13And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
