Christian Standard BibleEnglish Standard Version
The LORD instructed Moses:1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
"Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you enter the land I am giving you to settle in,2“Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land you are to inhabit, which I am giving you,
and you make a fire offering to the LORD from the herd or flock--either a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to fulfill a vow, or as a freewill offering, or at your appointed festivals--to produce a pleasing aroma for the LORD,3and you offer to the LORD from the herd or from the flock a food offering or a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering or at your appointed feasts, to make a pleasing aroma to the LORD,
the one presenting his offering to the LORD is also to present a grain offering of two quarts of fine flour mixed with a quart of oil.4then he who brings his offering shall offer to the LORD a grain offering of a tenth of an ephah of fine flour, mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil;
Prepare a quart of wine as a drink offering with the burnt offering or sacrifice of each lamb.5and you shall offer with the burnt offering, or for the sacrifice, a quarter of a hin of wine for the drink offering for each lamb.
"If you prepare a grain offering with a ram, it is to be four quarts of fine flour mixed with a third of a gallon of oil.6Or for a ram, you shall offer for a grain offering two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a third of a hin of oil.
Also present a third of a gallon of wine for a drink offering as a pleasing aroma to the LORD.7And for the drink offering you shall offer a third of a hin of wine, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
"If you prepare a young bull as a burnt offering or as a sacrifice, to fulfill a vow, or as a fellowship offering to the LORD,8And when you offer a bull as a burnt offering or sacrifice, to fulfill a vow or for peace offerings to the LORD,
a grain offering of six quarts of fine flour mixed with two quarts of oil is to be presented with the bull.9then one shall offer with the bull a grain offering of three tenths of an ephah of fine flour, mixed with half a hin of oil.
Also present two quarts of wine as a drink offering. It is a fire offering of pleasing aroma to the LORD.10And you shall offer for the drink offering half a hin of wine, as a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
This is to be done for each ox, ram, lamb, or goat.11“Thus it shall be done for each bull or ram, or for each lamb or young goat.
This is how you are to prepare each of them, no matter how many.12As many as you offer, so shall you do with each one, as many as there are.
"Every Israelite is to prepare these things in this way when he presents a fire offering as a pleasing aroma to the LORD.13Every native Israelite shall do these things in this way, in offering a food offering, with a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
When an alien resides with you or someone else is among you and wants to prepare a fire offering as a pleasing aroma to the LORD, he is to do exactly as you do throughout your generations.14And if a stranger is sojourning with you, or anyone is living permanently among you, and he wishes to offer a food offering, with a pleasing aroma to the LORD, he shall do as you do.
The assembly is to have the same statute for both you and the resident alien as a permanent statute throughout your generations. You and the alien will be alike before the LORD.15For the assembly, there shall be one statute for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you, a statute forever throughout your generations. You and the sojourner shall be alike before the LORD.
The same law and the same ordinance will apply to both you and the alien who resides with you."16One law and one rule shall be for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you.”
The LORD instructed Moses:17The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
"Speak to the Israelites and tell them: After you enter the land where I am bringing you,18“Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land to which I bring you
you are to offer a contribution to the LORD when you eat from the food of the land.19and when you eat of the bread of the land, you shall present a contribution to the LORD.
You are to offer a loaf from your first batch of dough as a contribution; offer it just like a contribution from the threshing floor.20Of the first of your dough you shall present a loaf as a contribution; like a contribution from the threshing floor, so shall you present it.
Throughout your generations, you are to give the LORD a contribution from the first batch of your dough.21Some of the first of your dough you shall give to the LORD as a contribution throughout your generations.
"When you sin unintentionally and do not obey all these commands that the LORD spoke to Moses--22“But if you sin unintentionally, and do not observe all these commandments that the LORD has spoken to Moses,
all that the LORD has commanded you through Moses, from the day the LORD issued the commands and onward throughout your generations--23all that the LORD has commanded you by Moses, from the day that the LORD gave commandment, and onward throughout your generations,
and if it was done unintentionally without the community's awareness, the entire community is to prepare one young bull for a burnt offering as a pleasing aroma to the LORD, with its grain offering and drink offering according to the regulation, and one male goat as a sin offering.24then if it was done unintentionally without the knowledge of the congregation, all the congregation shall offer one bull from the herd for a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD, with its grain offering and its drink offering, according to the rule, and one male goat for a sin offering.
The priest will then make atonement for the entire Israelite community so that they may be forgiven, for the sin was unintentional. They are to bring their offering, one made by fire to the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD for their unintentional sin.25And the priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the people of Israel, and they shall be forgiven, because it was a mistake, and they have brought their offering, a food offering to the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD for their mistake.
The entire Israelite community and the alien who resides among them will be forgiven, since it happened to all the people unintentionally.26And all the congregation of the people of Israel shall be forgiven, and the stranger who sojourns among them, because the whole population was involved in the mistake.
"If one person sins unintentionally, he is to present a year-old female goat as a sin offering.27“If one person sins unintentionally, he shall offer a female goat a year old for a sin offering.
The priest will then make atonement before the LORD on behalf of the person who acts in error sinning unintentionally, and when he makes atonement for him, he will be forgiven.28And the priest shall make atonement before the LORD for the person who makes a mistake, when he sins unintentionally, to make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven.
You are to have the same law for the person who acts in error, whether he is an Israelite or an alien who resides among you.29You shall have one law for him who does anything unintentionally, for him who is native among the people of Israel and for the stranger who sojourns among them.
"But the person who acts defiantly, whether native or resident alien, blasphemes the LORD. That person is to be cut off from his people.30But the person who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native or a sojourner, reviles the LORD, and that person shall be cut off from among his people.
He will certainly be cut off, because he has despised the LORD's word and broken his command; his guilt remains on him."31Because he has despised the word of the LORD and has broken his commandment, that person shall be utterly cut off; his iniquity shall be on him.”
While the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.32While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.
Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses, Aaron, and the entire community.33And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation.
They placed him in custody because it had not been decided what should be done to him.34They put him in custody, because it had not been made clear what should be done to him.
Then the LORD told Moses, "The man is to be put to death. The entire community is to stone him outside the camp."35And the LORD said to Moses, “The man shall be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.”
So the entire community brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD had commanded Moses.36And all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, as the LORD commanded Moses.
The LORD said to Moses,37The LORD said to Moses,
"Speak to the Israelites and tell them that throughout their generations they are to make tassels for the corners of their garments, and put a blue cord on the tassel at each corner.38“Speak to the people of Israel, and tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a cord of blue on the tassel of each corner.
These will serve as tassels for you to look at, so that you may remember all the LORD's commands and obey them and not prostitute yourselves by following your own heart and your own eyes.39And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after.
This way you will remember and obey all my commands and be holy to your God.40So you shall remember and do all my commandments, and be holy to your God.
I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God; I am the LORD your God."41I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God: I am the LORD your God.”
