1For the choirmaster: [To the tune of] “Do not Destroy.” A Psalm of Asaph. A Song. We give thanks to You, O God; we give thanks, for Your name is near. The people declare Your wondrous works. 1לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ אַל־ תַּשְׁחֵ֑ת מִזְמ֖וֹר לְאָסָ֣ף שִֽׁיר׃ ה֘וֹדִ֤ינוּ לְּךָ֨ ׀ אֱ‍ֽלֹהִ֗ים ה֭וֹדִינוּ וְקָר֣וֹב שְׁמֶ֑ךָ סִ֝פְּר֗וּ נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃
2“When I choose a time, I will judge fairly. 2כִּ֭י אֶקַּ֣ח מוֹעֵ֑ד אֲ֝נִ֗י מֵישָׁרִ֥ים אֶשְׁפֹּֽט׃
3When the earth and all its dwellers quake, it is I who bear up its pillars. Selah 3נְֽמֹגִ֗ים אֶ֥רֶץ וְכָל־ יֹשְׁבֶ֑יהָ אָנֹכִ֨י תִכַּ֖נְתִּי עַמּוּדֶ֣יהָ סֶּֽלָה׃
4I say to the proud, ‘Do not boast,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn. 4אָמַ֣רְתִּי לַֽ֭הוֹלְלִים אַל־ תָּהֹ֑לּוּ וְ֝לָרְשָׁעִ֗ים אַל־ תָּרִ֥ימוּ קָֽרֶן׃
5Do not lift up your horn against heaven or speak with an outstretched neck.’” 5אַל־ תָּרִ֣ימוּ לַמָּר֣וֹם קַרְנְכֶ֑ם תְּדַבְּר֖וּ בְצַוָּ֣אר עָתָֽק׃
6For exaltation comes not from east or west or out of the desert, 6כִּ֤י לֹ֣א מִ֭מּוֹצָא וּמִֽמַּעֲרָ֑ב וְ֝לֹ֗א מִמִּדְבַּ֥ר הָרִֽים׃
7but it is God who judges; He brings one down and exalts another. 7כִּֽי־ אֱלֹהִ֥ים שֹׁפֵ֑ט זֶ֥ה יַ֝שְׁפִּ֗יל וְזֶ֣ה יָרִֽים׃
8For a cup is in the hand of the LORD, full of foaming wine mixed with spices, He pours from it, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down it to the dregs. 8כִּ֤י כ֪וֹס בְּֽיַד־ יְהוָ֡ה וְיַ֤יִן חָמַ֨ר ׀ מָ֥לֵא מֶסֶךְ֮ וַיַּגֵּ֪ר מִ֫זֶּ֥ה אַךְ־ שְׁ֭מָרֶיהָ יִמְצ֣וּ יִשְׁתּ֑וּ כֹּ֝֗ל רִשְׁעֵי־ אָֽרֶץ׃
9But I will proclaim it forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob. 9וַ֭אֲנִי אַגִּ֣יד לְעֹלָ֑ם אֲ֝זַמְּרָ֗ה לֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב׃
10“All the horns of the wicked I will cut off, but the horns of the righteous will be exalted.” 10וְכָל־ קַרְנֵ֣י רְשָׁעִ֣ים אֲגַדֵּ֑עַ תְּ֝רוֹמַ֗מְנָה קַֽרְנ֥וֹת צַדִּֽיק׃
