In times of trouble, may the LORD answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. | 1For the choir director. A Psalm of David. May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high! |
May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. | 2May He send you help from the sanctuary And support you from Zion! |
May he remember all your gifts and look favorably on your burnt offerings. Interlude | 3May He remember all your meal offerings And find your burnt offering acceptable! Selah. |
May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. | 4May He grant you your heart's desire And fulfill all your counsel! |
May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the LORD answer all your prayers. | 5We will sing for joy over your victory, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the LORD fulfill all your petitions. |
Now I know that the LORD rescues his anointed king. He will answer him from his holy heaven and rescue him by his great power. | 6Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. |
Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God. | 7Some boast in chariots and some in horses, But we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God. |
Those nations will fall down and collapse, but we will rise up and stand firm. | 8They have bowed down and fallen, But we have risen and stood upright. |
Give victory to our king, O LORD! Answer our cry for help. | 9Save, O LORD; May the King answer us in the day we call. |
