| 2I will praise the LORD as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath. | 2I will praise the LORD while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. |
| 3Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. | 3Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation. |
| 4When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them. | 4His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; In that very day his thoughts perish. |

| 9The LORD protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked. | 9The LORD protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow, But He thwarts the way of the wicked. |
