New Living Translation | New American Standard Bible 1995 |
From the depths of despair, O LORD, I call for your help. | 1A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD. |
Hear my cry, O Lord. Pay attention to my prayer. | 2Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications. |
LORD, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? | 3If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? |
But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you. | 4But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared. |
I am counting on the LORD; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word. | 5I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope. |
I long for the Lord more than sentries long for the dawn, yes, more than sentries long for the dawn. | 6My soul waits for the Lord More than the watchmen for the morning; Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning. |
O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is unfailing love. His redemption overflows. | 7O Israel, hope in the LORD; For with the LORD there is lovingkindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. |
He himself will redeem Israel from every kind of sin. | 8And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities. |
