New Living Translation | New American Standard Bible 1995 |
I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? | 1A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? |
My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! | 2My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. |
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. | 3He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. |
Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. | 4Behold, He who keeps Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep. |
The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. | 5The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand. |
The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. | 6The sun will not smite you by day, Nor the moon by night. |
The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. | 7The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. |
The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. | 8The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in From this time forth and forever. |
