New Living Translation | King James Bible |
I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? | 1A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. |
My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! | 2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. |
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. | 3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. |
Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. | 4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. |
The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. | 5The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. |
The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. | 6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. |
The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. | 7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. |
The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. | 8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. |
