New Living Translation | New American Standard Bible 1995 |
Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness. | 1Not to us, O LORD, not to us, But to Your name give glory Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth. |
Why let the nations say, “Where is their God?” | 2Why should the nations say, "Where, now, is their God?" |
Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes. | 3But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases. |
Their idols are merely things of silver and gold, shaped by human hands. | 4Their idols are silver and gold, The work of man's hands. |
They have mouths but cannot speak, and eyes but cannot see. | 5They have mouths, but they cannot speak; They have eyes, but they cannot see; |
They have ears but cannot hear, and noses but cannot smell. | 6They have ears, but they cannot hear; They have noses, but they cannot smell; |
They have hands but cannot feel, and feet but cannot walk, and throats but cannot make a sound. | 7They have hands, but they cannot feel; They have feet, but they cannot walk; They cannot make a sound with their throat. |
And those who make idols are just like them, as are all who trust in them. | 8Those who make them will become like them, Everyone who trusts in them. |
O Israel, trust the LORD! He is your helper and your shield. | 9O Israel, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield. |
O priests, descendants of Aaron, trust the LORD! He is your helper and your shield. | 10O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield. |
All you who fear the LORD, trust the LORD! He is your helper and your shield. | 11You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield. |
The LORD remembers us and will bless us. He will bless the people of Israel and bless the priests, the descendants of Aaron. | 12The LORD has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. |
He will bless those who fear the LORD, both great and lowly. | 13He will bless those who fear the LORD, The small together with the great. |
May the LORD richly bless both you and your children. | 14May the LORD give you increase, You and your children. |
May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth. | 15May you be blessed of the LORD, Maker of heaven and earth. |
The heavens belong to the LORD, but he has given the earth to all humanity. | 16The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, But the earth He has given to the sons of men. |
The dead cannot sing praises to the LORD, for they have gone into the silence of the grave. | 17The dead do not praise the LORD, Nor do any who go down into silence; |
But we can praise the LORD both now and forever! Praise the LORD! | 18But as for us, we will bless the LORD From this time forth and forever. Praise the LORD! |
