New Living Translation | New American Standard Bible 1995 |
My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart! | 1A Song, a Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul. |
Wake up, lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song. | 2Awake, harp and lyre; I will awaken the dawn! |
I will thank you, LORD, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. | 3I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. |
For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. | 4For Your lovingkindness is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the skies. |
Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth. | 5Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, And Your glory above all the earth. |
Now rescue your beloved people. Answer and save us by your power. | 6That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and answer me! |
God has promised this by his holiness : “I will divide up Shechem with joy. I will measure out the valley of Succoth. | 7God has spoken in His holiness: "I will exult, I will portion out Shechem And measure out the valley of Succoth. |
Gilead is mine, and Manasseh, too. Ephraim, my helmet, will produce my warriors, and Judah, my scepter, will produce my kings. | 8"Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet of My head; Judah is My scepter. |
But Moab, my washbasin, will become my servant, and I will wipe my feet on Edom and shout in triumph over Philistia.” | 9"Moab is My washbowl; Over Edom I shall throw My shoe; Over Philistia I will shout aloud." |
Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who will bring me victory over Edom? | 10Who will bring me into the besieged city? Who will lead me to Edom? |
Have you rejected us, O God? Will you no longer march with our armies? | 11Have not You Yourself, O God, rejected us? And will You not go forth with our armies, O God? |
Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless. | 12Oh give us help against the adversary, For deliverance by man is in vain. |
With God’s help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes. | 13Through God we will do valiantly, And it is He who shall tread down our adversaries. |
