| 1Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help. | 1Listen, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. |
| 2Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. | 2Protect my life, for I am faithful. You are my God; save your servant who trusts in you. |
| 3Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly. | 3Be gracious to me, Lord, for I call to you all day long. |
| 4Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you. | 4Bring joy to your servant's life, because I appeal to you, Lord. |
| 5O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. | 5For you, Lord, are kind and ready to forgive, abounding in faithful love to all who call on you. |
| 6Listen closely to my prayer, O LORD; hear my urgent cry. | 6LORD, hear my prayer; listen to my plea for mercy. |
| 7I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble, and you will answer me. | 7I call on you in the day of my distress, for you will answer me. |

| 15But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. | 15But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth. |
| 16Look down and have mercy on me. Give your strength to your servant; save me, the son of your servant. | 16Turn to me and be gracious to me. Give your strength to your servant; save the son of your female servant. |
| 17Send me a sign of your favor. Then those who hate me will be put to shame, for you, O LORD, help and comfort me. | 17Show me a sign of your goodness; my enemies will see and be put to shame because you, LORD, have helped and comforted me. |
