New Living Translation | Berean Standard Bible |
O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! | 1For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. Of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. |
From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety, | 2From the ends of the earth I call out to You whenever my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. |
for you are my safe refuge, a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me. | 3For You have been my refuge, a tower of strength against the enemy. |
Let me live forever in your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of your wings! Interlude | 4Let me dwell in Your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah |
For you have heard my vows, O God. You have given me an inheritance reserved for those who fear your name. | 5For You have heard my vows, O God; You have given me the inheritance reserved for those who fear Your name. |
Add many years to the life of the king! May his years span the generations! | 6Increase the days of the king’s life; may his years span many generations. |
May he reign under God’s protection forever. May your unfailing love and faithfulness watch over him. | 7May he sit enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint Your loving devotion and Your faithfulness to guard him. |
Then I will sing praises to your name forever as I fulfill my vows each day. | 8Then I will ever sing praise to Your name and fulfill my vows day by day. |
