Psalm 142
NLT Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationBerean Study Bible
1I cry out to the LORD; I plead for the LORD’s mercy.1A Maskil of David, when he was in the cave. A prayer. I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift my voice to the LORD for mercy.
2I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles.2I pour out my complaint before Him; I reveal my trouble to Him.
3When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn. Wherever I go, my enemies have set traps for me.3Although my spirit grows faint within me, You know my way. Along the path I travel they have hidden a snare for me.
4I look for someone to come and help me, but no one gives me a passing thought! No one will help me; no one cares a bit what happens to me.4Look to my right and see; no one attends to me. There is no refuge for me; no one cares for my soul.
5Then I pray to you, O LORD. I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life.5I cry to You, O LORD: “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”
6Hear my cry, for I am very low. Rescue me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me.6Listen to my cry, for I am brought quite low. Rescue me from my pursuers, for they are too strong for me.
7Bring me out of prison so I can thank you. The godly will crowd around me, for you are good to me.”7Free my soul from prison, that I may praise Your name. The righteous will gather around me because of Your goodness to me.
