New King James Version | New Living Translation |
A Prayer of David. Bow down Your ear, O LORD, hear me; For I am poor and needy. | 1Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help. |
Preserve my life, for I am holy; You are my God; Save Your servant who trusts in You! | 2Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. |
Be merciful to me, O Lord, For I cry to You all day long. | 3Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly. |
Rejoice the soul of Your servant, For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. | 4Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you. |
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. | 5O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. |
Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; And attend to the voice of my supplications. | 6Listen closely to my prayer, O LORD; hear my urgent cry. |
In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, For You will answer me. | 7I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble, and you will answer me. |
Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; Nor are there any works like Your works. | 8No pagan god is like you, O Lord. None can do what you do! |
All nations whom You have made Shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And shall glorify Your name. | 9All the nations you made will come and bow before you, Lord; they will praise your holy name. |
For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God. | 10For you are great and perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God. |
Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. | 11Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. |
I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore. | 12With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever, |
For great is Your mercy toward me, And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. | 13for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death. |
O God, the proud have risen against me, And a mob of violent men have sought my life, And have not set You before them. | 14O God, insolent people rise up against me; a violent gang is trying to kill me. You mean nothing to them. |
But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth. | 15But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. |
Oh, turn to me, and have mercy on me! Give Your strength to Your servant, And save the son of Your maidservant. | 16Look down and have mercy on me. Give your strength to your servant; save me, the son of your servant. |
Show me a sign for good, That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, Because You, LORD, have helped me and comforted me. | 17Send me a sign of your favor. Then those who hate me will be put to shame, for you, O LORD, help and comfort me. |
