| 1A Prayer of David. Bow down Your ear, O LORD, hear me; For I am poor and needy. | 1Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help. |
| 2Preserve my life, for I am holy; You are my God; Save Your servant who trusts in You! | 2Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. |
| 3Be merciful to me, O Lord, For I cry to You all day long. | 3Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly. |
| 4Rejoice the soul of Your servant, For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. | 4Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you. |
| 5For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. | 5O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. |

| 15But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth. | 15But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. |
| 16Oh, turn to me, and have mercy on me! Give Your strength to Your servant, And save the son of Your maidservant. | 16Look down and have mercy on me. Give your strength to your servant; save me, the son of your servant. |
| 17Show me a sign for good, That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, Because You, LORD, have helped me and comforted me. | 17Send me a sign of your favor. Then those who hate me will be put to shame, for you, O LORD, help and comfort me. |
