| 2and all the brethren who are with me, To the churches of Galatia: | 2and all the brothers who are with me. To: The churches in Galatia. |
| 3Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, | 3May grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, be yours! |
| 4who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, | 4He gave himself for our sins in order to rescue us from this present evil age according to the will of our God and Father. |
| 5to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. | 5To him be the glory forever and ever! Amen. |
| 6I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, | 6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of the Messiah and, instead, are following a different gospel, |
| 7which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. | 7not that another one really exists. To be sure, there are certain people who are troubling you and want to distort the gospel about the Messiah. |
| 8But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. | 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let that person be condemned! |
| 9As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. | 9What we have told you in the past I am now telling you again: If anyone proclaims to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let that person be condemned! |
| 10For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. | 10Am I now trying to win the approval of people or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be the Messiah's servant. |
| 11But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. | 11For I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel that was proclaimed by me is not of human origin. |
| 12For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ. | 12For I did not receive it from a man, nor was I taught it, but it was revealed to me by Jesus the Messiah. |
| 13For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it. | 13For you have heard about my earlier life in Judaism—how I kept violently persecuting God's church and was trying to destroy it. |
| 14And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers. | 14I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries, because I was far more zealous for the traditions of my ancestors. |
| 15But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, | 15But when God, who set me apart before I was born and who called me by his grace, was pleased |
| 16to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood, | 16to reveal his Son to me so that I might proclaim him among the gentiles, I did not confer with another human being at any time, |
| 17nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. | 17nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before me. Instead, I went away to Arabia and then came back to Damascus. |

| 23But they were hearing only, “He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith which he once tried to destroy.” | 23The only thing they kept hearing was this: "The man who used to persecute us is now proclaiming the faith he once tried to destroy!" |
