You reveal your presence; people tell about your amazing deeds. | 1We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds. |
| 2God says, "At the appointed times, I judge fairly. | 2God says, “At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked. |

| 4I say to the proud, "Do not be proud," and to the wicked, "Do not be so confident of victory! | 4“I warned the proud, ‘Stop your boasting!’ I told the wicked, ‘Don’t raise your fists! |
| 5Do not be so certain you have won! Do not speak with your head held so high! | 5Don’t raise your fists in defiance at the heavens or speak with such arrogance.’” |
| 6For victory does not come from the east or west, or from the wilderness. | 6For no one on earth—from east or west, or even from the wilderness— should raise a defiant fist. |
| 7For God is the judge! He brings one down and exalts another. | 7It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall. |
