| 2O Lord, listen to me! Pay attention to my plea for mercy! | 2Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. |
| 3If you, O LORD, were to keep track of sins, O Lord, who could stand before you? | 3If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? |
| 4But you are willing to forgive, so that you might be honored. | 4But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. |
| 5I rely on the LORD, I rely on him with my whole being; I wait for his assuring word. | 5I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. |
| 6I yearn for the Lord, more than watchmen do for the morning, yes, more than watchmen do for the morning. | 6I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. |
